(Photo by Sutthiwit Chayutworakan)SAMUT PRAKAN – A large one-storey wooden warehouse of a timber trader collapsed on Thursday afternoon but workers were able to run to safety. The building, situated on a three-rai plot on Sukhumvit Road in tambon Paknam of Muang district, was totally destroyed. A side of the two-storey Charoen Chai Paknam shophouse adjacent to the warehouse and a motorcycle were also damaged. He said his workers had heard creaking noises a few days ago and he had the 41-year-old warehouse repaired but the work had not been completed due to the rain. Suthas Jaiyen, deputy major of Samut Prakan municipality, and officials went to inspect the collapsed warehouse and helped the workers clean up the site.
